Hydrocele (dropsy of the testicle) is a pathology when there is an accumulation of serous fluid in the scrotum. The disease can be both congenital and acquired. Dropsy of the testicle is almost asymptomatic and is detected during a preventive examination (enlargement of the scrotum on one side). In some cases, hydrocele may be accompanied by:
- testicular edema
- severe pain syndrome
- fever
- vomiting (rarely)
Testicular dropsy responds well to surgical treatment, and minimally invasive operations are common. They allow effectively and with minimal injury to remove the accumulation of fluid and plasticize the membranes of the testicle. For the surgical treatment of hydrocele are used:
- Winkelman surgery
- Bergman surgery
- Lord surgery
- testicular shell diminution
